Ultra Low Field Option

By adding a precision 4-quadrant low current source (500mA) to the main power supply, very low fields in the region +/-50mT (500 Gauss) can be obtained with high resolution of 1 micro Tesla (= 0.01Gauss). and avoiding a significant remanent field in the magnet. If the magnet has previously been to high field then the remanent magnetism can be removed either by heating the magnet or by going through a degaussing procedure.

True Zero field (±0.001G) assuming the system is shielded from the earth’s field) can be achieved by warming the magnet above the critical temperature and subsequent cool-down.
Zero field to within 1 Gauss can be achieved using the degauss procedure.

For the cryogen free magnet, heating is a particularly easy procedure giving access to very low background fields.

Ultra Low Field Specification:
+/- 50mT range
10-4set accuracy
1 micro Tesla step = 10-2 Gauss

To remove the earths background field a mu-metal shield with degausser is required.
